I understand there is some question about how to contact the police department. There have been instances where calls have been made to the number at the local police station with no answer, leaving the caller frustrated. Also people have gone to the Police Station and found that no one is there. The best way to contact a Police Officer in a non-emergency situation is to call the Clinton County Dispatcher using the number 816-740-4252 and they will contact the officer on duty. I have used this method to contact police officers and it was very efficient.
Also to report a water leak or a distribution system problem when City Hall is closed, call 816-740-4251 at City Hall and listen to the recorded message. The message will tell you the emergency pager number to call. The on-call person who has the emergency pager will call you back to have you describe the problem.

Local Cable Operator Moves Forward with Digital Transition
The City has received information from the local cable provider, Allegiance Communications, concerning the transition to digital broadcasting on February 17, 2009. People who are current customers will not need to do anything. The conversion is handled through the cable system. They are working to have everything converted by the date mentioned above. The households that do not have cable or satellite service or a TV that is equipped for digital signals will need to install a digital converter by February 17, 2009. For households that are unable to receive the digital signal, Allegiance is offering introductory program pricing for their basic cable service. Most are 3 month offers with discounted pricing on installation. Call the Allegiance number 1-800-937-1397 or go to their website at www.allegiance.tv.
