Local Cable Operator Moves Forward with Digital Transition
The City has received information from the local cable provider, Allegiance Communications, concerning the transition to digital broadcasting on February 17, 2009. People who are current customers will not need to do anything. The conversion is handled through the cable system. They are working to have everything converted by the date mentioned above. The households that do not have cable or satellite service or a TV that is equipped for digital signals will need to install a digital converter by February 17, 2009. For households that are unable to receive the digital signal, Allegiance is offering introductory program pricing for their basic cable service. Most are 3 month offers with discounted pricing on installation. Call the Allegiance number 1-800-937-1397 or go to their website at www.allegiance.tv.
